Photography has been part of my life for more than 20 years. After retiring from a career in the United States Air Force, I decided it was time to turn a lifelong passion into a profession and created Cattywampus Camera.

My camera has taken me just about everywhere, from crowded festivals and live concerts to portraits, severe storms, quiet landscapes, and the night sky. Whether I'm capturing the energy of a band on stage, the split-second timing of a dancer in midair, or a quiet moment between people, I'm always looking for the moments that tell the real story.

My years in the Air Force taught me the value of preparation, attention to detail, adaptability, and staying calm when things don't go according to plan. Those lessons have followed me behind the camera, where lighting changes, weather moves in, schedules shift, and the best moments rarely wait for you to be ready.

I also continue to volunteer as a National Weather Service severe weather spotter. I've always had a fascination with weather, and photography gives me another way to experience and document the landscapes, storms, and night skies that keep drawing me outdoors.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll probably find me watching the weather, planning my next outdoor adventure, or sitting on a lake not catching fish.

I believe the best photographs aren't staged, they're discovered. That's the philosophy behind Cattywampus Camera and the reason for the tagline Unexpected. Unscripted. Unforgettable. My goal is to create authentic images that preserve genuine moments and tell stories you'll remember long after the moment has passed.
