Image Licensing Agreement

Effective Date: August 5, 2026

At The Cattywampus Camera LLC, we believe photographs are more than images—they are creative works protected by United States Copyright Law. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, all photographs created by The Cattywampus Camera LLC remain the exclusive intellectual property of the photographer.

When you purchase a print, digital image, or photography service, you are purchasing a license to use the images, not ownership of the copyright. The type of license you receive depends on how the images will be used.

To make licensing simple and transparent, we offer three types of image licenses:

Personal Use License

The Personal Use License is included with most print purchases, digital downloads, and photography services unless otherwise stated.

You May:

  • Print your photographs for personal display.

  • Share images with family and friends.

  • Post images on your personal social media accounts.

  • Use photographs on your personal (non-commercial) website or blog.

  • Store backup copies for your own personal use.

You May Not:

  • Sell or license the images to another person or business.

  • Use the images to advertise or promote a business.

  • Submit the images to stock photography websites.

  • Claim the images as your own work.

  • Remove copyright notices or watermarks.

  • Use the images to train artificial intelligence (AI) systems or machine learning models.

Photographer credit is always appreciated when sharing images online.

Commercial License

A Commercial License is required whenever photographs are used to promote, advertise, market, or support a business, organization, product, service, or event.

Examples include:

  • Business websites

  • Advertising campaigns

  • Marketing materials

  • Product packaging

  • Event promotion

  • Tourism campaigns

  • Restaurant menus

  • Corporate publications

  • Social media advertising

Commercial Licenses are customized based on the intended use, duration, distribution, geographic reach, and any exclusivity requirements.

Editorial License

Editorial Licenses are intended for informational uses where photographs accompany news, educational, or documentary content.

Examples include:

  • Newspapers

  • Magazines

  • Books

  • Educational publications

  • Documentary films

  • News websites

Editorial Licenses do not permit photographs to be used to advertise, endorse, or promote products, services, or organizations unless separately licensed.

Copyright Ownership

All photographs created by The Cattywampus Camera LLC remain the exclusive intellectual property of the photographer and are protected under United States Copyright Law.

Purchasing prints, digital images, or photography services does not transfer copyright ownership.

Only the specific usage rights granted by the applicable license are provided.

Prohibited Uses

Unless specifically authorized in writing, you may not:

  • Sell, sublicense, or redistribute any photograph.

  • Remove copyright notices or embedded metadata.

  • Claim authorship of any image.

  • Create products for resale using our photographs.

  • Use photographs in any unlawful, defamatory, or misleading manner.

  • Register our photographs as trademarks or logos.

  • Mint or distribute photographs as NFTs or similar blockchain assets.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Photographs created by The Cattywampus Camera LLC may not be used to train, develop, or improve artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, image generators, or similar technologies without prior written permission.

This restriction applies regardless of whether the images were purchased, downloaded, or otherwise obtained.

Changes to This Agreement
