Booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date. For portrait and family sessions, I recommend reaching out at least a few weeks in advance. Weddings should generally be booked several months in advance, especially for popular spring and fall dates.
-
I'm based in Pataskala, Ohio and serve Columbus and the surrounding Central Ohio communities. If you're outside the immediate area, don't hesitate to reach out. Depending on the location and type of photography, I may still be able to work with you.
-
Absolutely. I'm happy to travel for weddings, events, and photography sessions. Travel within 50 miles is included, and additional travel fees may apply for locations beyond that distance.
-
Turnaround time varies depending on the type of session and the number of photographs being delivered. I'll give you an estimated delivery time frame for your specific session, and I'd rather take the time to properly select and edit your photographs than rush them out the door.
-
Your finished photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download your high-resolution images and order professional prints and photographic products.
-
No. RAW and unedited files are not delivered. Editing is an important part of my photographic process, and every photograph I deliver is selected and edited to represent my finished work.
-
Yes. Your finished high-resolution photographs include a personal print release, so you're welcome to have them printed wherever you choose. Professional-quality prints and photographic products can also be ordered directly through your private gallery.
-
For outdoor sessions, we'll keep an eye on the weather as your session approaches. If conditions make the session impractical or unsafe, we'll work together to reschedule for another available date. A little cloud cover won't stop us, but severe weather certainly will.
Lucky for you, I have a background in meteorology.
-
I understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule, contact me as soon as possible and we'll work together to find another available date. Any deposits, payments, or rescheduling fees will be handled according to the terms of your photography agreement.
-
As early as possible. Wedding dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and popular Saturdays can fill well in advance. If your wedding is coming up soon, it never hurts to ask. If the date is available, I’d be happy to talk with you.
-
Absolutely. Rehearsal coverage is available if you’d like those moments documented as well. It’s also a great opportunity for me to become familiar with the venue, ceremony layout, and some of the important people I’ll be photographing the following day.
-
Yes. Engagement sessions are available separately and are a great opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. We can choose a location and style that feels like the two of you rather than treating it as a miniature version of your wedding portraits.
-
At this time, I do not offer a second photographer. I would rather be upfront about that than promise a service when I cannot guarantee that a qualified photographer will be available for your wedding date.
-
I don’t promise a specific number of photographs because every wedding is different. Your final gallery will include the photographs that best tell the story of your day, carefully selected and individually edited rather than padded with unnecessary duplicates.
-
Every wedding is different, and I don't want to rush through your photographs simply to meet an arbitrary deadline. I'll give your gallery the time and attention it deserves and keep you updated on my progress throughout the editing process.
-
If a serious illness or emergency prevents me from photographing your wedding, I will make every reasonable effort to help locate another qualified photographer who is available to cover your day. The specific terms regarding an emergency or inability to perform are also addressed in your photography agreement.
-
Yes. The Cattywampus Camera LLC carries business insurance. If your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know and I can provide the necessary documentation.
-
Yes. I bring backup camera equipment to weddings because equipment can fail, and your wedding day can't be rescheduled because a camera decided to have a bad day.
-
Absolutely, especially for family groupings and photographs involving specific people who are important to you. A list helps make sure I know about photographs that may not be obvious to me. You don’t need to provide a list of every standard wedding photograph, though. I want to spend the day watching for moments, not checking boxes on a clipboard
-
Yes. I’m happy to travel for weddings. Travel expenses will depend on the location and may include transportation, lodging, and other necessary expenses. We’ll discuss those details beforehand so everything is clearly established before you book.

Your online gallery will remain available for six months from the date your photographs are delivered. You'll receive email reminders before your gallery expires, giving you plenty of time to download your photographs and place any final print orders.
-
Yes. You can share your gallery with family and friends, and they can order prints and photo products directly from the gallery. Their orders are produced by a professional photo lab and shipped directly to them.
-
E-Surface is a traditional photographic paper with a subtle texture and a natural finish that works well for almost any photograph. Metallic photographic paper has a distinctive glossy appearance with increased depth and vibrancy, making colors, highlights, and contrast stand out. Despite the name, Metallic photographic paper is still paper, not a metal print.
-
Absolutely. The collections are simply bundled selections of popular print sizes. Individual prints and other available photo products can be ordered separately through your gallery, so you're never limited to what is included in a collection.
Ordering & Galleries
-
Wear something that feels like you and that you're comfortable being photographed in. For families or groups, coordinating colors usually works better than everyone wearing identical outfits. Once we know the location and style of your session, I'm happy to help with ideas.
-
Absolutely. Outfit changes are a great way to add variety to your photographs, especially for senior and individual portrait sessions. Just remember that time spent changing is part of your session time.
-
That depends entirely on what we're photographing. We can choose a location that fits the look you're after, photograph somewhere meaningful to you, or work together to find a location that fits your session.
-
Absolutely. If time and distance allow, we can incorporate multiple locations into your session. Keep in mind that travel between locations is part of your scheduled session time.
-
Absolutely, as long as the location allows it and it can be done safely. Pets are part of the family too, and I'm happy to include them.
-
Please do. Cars, motorcycles, musical instruments, sports equipment, uniforms, pets, or anything else that's important to you can help make the photographs more personal. Your session doesn't have to be a collection of traditional posed portraits.
-
There isn't a strict limit. Families come in all sizes, and your session can be planned around the number of people you'd like to include. For particularly large groups or extended-family sessions, contact me beforehand so we can make sure we have enough time and choose an appropriate location.
-
Your session fee includes up to 90 minutes of photography, planning for your session, professional editing of the final photographs, and a private online gallery where you can view your finished images. Additional photography time is available for $100 per hour.
-
No. Print collections are simply an easy way to purchase a selection of popular print sizes together. There is no requirement to purchase a collection.

Yes. Individual prints are available directly through your online gallery, so you can order exactly the photographs and sizes you want without purchasing a collection.

Yes. Your gallery will remain available for six months from the date your photographs are delivered, and you can return at any time during that period to order additional prints. You'll receive email reminders before your gallery expires, giving you plenty of notice to place any final orders.
